Have you ever tried to edit your text several times and you couldn’t find anything that fits perfectly on your banner?
Here are a few tips about editing your text with Bannersnack.
Firstly, let’s start with the typefaces.
When choosing between typefaces you need to follow some rules. It’s better for you to use some common typefaces, so the reader won’t get tired or frustrated while reading your text. Also, you need to be selective and choose an appropriate typefaces for your banner. There’s another rule that you need to stay across many browser changes that occur nowadays. For example, Google is recommending to use their font Roboto for a better search engine indexing.
Be aware that type triggers emotions, so choosing a perfect typeface can become harder. For example, you’re creating a banner for children products, so you shouldn’t use a strong bolded typeface, instead you should use a soft one that is more suitable for a kids product.
When you’re thinking about combining two or more fonts, this can become tricky. The general rule of thumb is to use a neutral serif and san serif combination. This is the safest option that you can use. Also, you can combine an old typeface with a modern one, but make sure the contrast between the typefaces you choose is not too big. Always keep in mind to use the maximum of 2 or 3 typefaces in your designs.
Let’s move on to colors.
Every time you design something, you should choose a color that is appropriate for your background and objects and fits the best on your text. If you want your text to captivate the customer attention, you can use a color in contrast with your background. Is always better to start with a color that you love and you think that it’s fitting your banner. From that color, you can build a color scheme. If you start with more than one color you’ll waste a lot of time finding the right harmony between the colors.
Next stop, size:
While choosing the right size we need to consider the purpose and location of our banner.
Here we can apply the 8H rule. The 8H rule says that the maximum viewing distance shouldn’t be more than 8 times the height (H) of the screen.
The last but not the least, practice and try all the combinations in order to create the perfect banner.
“Don’t practice until you get it right. Practice until you can’t get it wrong.”
Hello guys, here’s how to edit text in Bannersnack.
We showed you earlier how easy it is to add text. Just click the Add text and a standard textbox will be added to your banner.
To edit it, select your text and you will see font options in the right hand panel, under the properties tab.
You can change the font type, size, color and alignment. Let’s edit this text here a bit. Select it and let’s choose a font first. We have lots of fonts, try different ones to see the one you like best for your design. And let’s make the text a bit bigger. With the text still selected, type in or choose a predetermined size.
Let’s change the color, make this green.
Additionally, you can make your text bold by clicking the B button next to the color field. See? Well, looks better without.
You can also set a specific width and height for your text’s container box. Drag to resize it or you can type in specific numbers if you want to. Here’s how drag it and here’s how you make it bigger. You can also rotate the text if you want to. For a higher precision, choose the rotation option under the properties tab.
You can also edit text opacity – but we don’t strongly recommend this.
There are 3 other effects you can use with text: drop shadow, adjust color and colorize. If you want to use any of these, just tick the box next to the effect. Once you’ve applied the effect, you can adjust the settings for each of them.
You can adjust the color of the drop shadow, the spread and so on. Adjust color allows you to play with brightness, saturation and other color options. Colorize adds a color tint to your text.
