Christmas is coming soon but this doesn’t seem to stop the social media giants from rolling out new features or ideas. It seems like this year truly was the Social-Media year, since we had releases almost every week. Let’s see what this end of November has in stores for us.
Would you have thought that Facebook needs help from TV to promote its features? Well, we didn’t eihther but it only seems right that it reached out to one of the biggest media powers to promote Facebook Live. Facebook has already become the most used social media platform with over 1,100,000,000 estimated unique monthly visitors. Is it trying to “steal” more users from the TV with its new features?
Real time marketing is amazing. We’re using it, big brands are using, small businesses are using it. But what about real time advertising? Facebook is testing real time ads for its live videos. Which means that when you’ll be doing a live video, you’ll be able to roll out an ad alert and grab users in the moment in order to redirect them to your live broadcast..
Everybody knows that if you screenshot a snap or conversation on Snapchat, the person whose snap you’ve screenshotted sees a notification about it. Well, Instagram is introducing this feature too to its chat. So, be careful whose conversation you’re screenshotting!
Twitter wants to play this game of “who’s the best social network” and turns its attention to video. Suzy Nicoletti, the new Australian managing director, told Mashable live streaming video would be an audience and revenue focus for the company. Twitter aims to reach profitability in 2017, recently announcing its intention to lay off about 350 employees as part of cost cutting measures.
Mobile ad campaigns are getting better at reaching their intended audiences. “US campaigns targeted to people ages 18–34 and 25–44 had a better chance of reaching those audiences on mobile than on desktop”. And there’s no wonder since we spend so much time on our mobile devices!
So, we hope you already have Facebook, Instagram and Twitter installed on your phones. Cause mobile is the future, going hand in hand with video!
