Artist, designer, picture maker and tea lover, these are just a few words that describe Phill Weyman a.k.a. Mister Phill. We had the great opportunity to ask this brilliant designer, a few questions that are related to the design industry.
Enjoy!

Please describe yourself in a few words?
Picture maker, hoping to please your eyeballs.
Which part of the design process do you enjoy the most?
All parts are enjoyable in different ways – the initial drawing because I don’t know what I’m going to produce, and the digital colouring as I never know which colours I will use so there are lovely creative surprises thoughout the whole process.
What kind of project do you enjoy working on the most?
No preference really, I like the external input from projects as it makes me produce work I may not have done on my own (as opposed to self-initiated work).
What is your definition of a creative person?
Someone who can make something from nothing – produce something unique that didn’t exist before and that no-one else would have made.
How does your design process differs from your colleague’s?
We all have different methods, though most people do start with the basic act of drawing on paper and taking it from there – what they then do digitally is often very different.
What are the most important 3 tools for you? (anything you use constantly for design, or anything you think others should use)
Pen, paper, mind.
How do you stay creative?
Just keep doing stuff – always keep coming back. It’s OK to have a hiatus but don’t give up!
What’s your definition of success?
I guess it’s being able to create something that is true to you and have it find a place in the world where others can enjoy it.
Tea or coffee?
1 cup of coffee in the morning followed by a constant stream of tea. Though if I had to choose Tea would win.
