Our today guest at Bannesnack Ad Talk is a leading Social Marketing Strategist, Keynote Speaker, Brand Evangelist and Acting CMO of Brand Innovators and in March 2009 started publicly using and evangelizing the term ROR: Return on Relationship™... a concept he believes is the cornerstone for building an engaged multi-million member database, many of whom are vocal advocates for the brand, like the one he built for e.l.f. Cosmetics as the Chief Marketing Officer between 2008 and 2010, and the one being built for the new updated OpenSky where he was Chief Social Marketing Officer until the end of April 2011.

Ladies and getleman, we present you Ted Rubin!

    1. What do you think about advertising on social media (Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter)?

It’s advertising and should be approached as such. Test and compare the results to other media and spend your available $’s accordingly.

    2. How much should one startup invest in promotion vs. production (development)?

That is not a question that can be answered without knowing the details and specifics of the business and it’s goals.

    3. Could you recommend one or two resources for advertising professionals reading our blog? (books, links)

Make sure to read Seth Godin’s blog… he publishes brilliant thinking every day in short form. I am also a fan Media Post, and Business Insider.

    Thank you Ted!
